Corner & Geometric Symbols

There are 42 geometric symbols on this page, every one a real Unicode character you can copy with a single click. The most looked-up are Black Up-Pointing Triangle ▲ (U+25B2).

Simple geometric shapes do a lot of quiet work: a triangle points, a filled circle marks a status, a square sits as a bullet. This hub gathers the solid and outlined triangles, circles, squares and diamonds, in the sizes and directions you actually reach for when building a legend, a list marker or a small diagram in text.

How do you copy and paste geometric symbols?

Click the character in the grid above and it goes straight to your clipboard, then paste it with Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+V on a Mac. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is installed: these are plain text characters, so they land in a document, a spreadsheet cell, a caption, a username or a line of code and keep working when the font changes.

If you need the code rather than the character, open any symbol's own page from the table below. Each one lists the Unicode code point, the decimal and hex HTML entities, the CSS content escape, the JavaScript escape, the UTF-8 bytes and the Windows alt code where one exists, each with its own copy button.

How do you type geometric symbols without copying?

On Windows, the few characters that have an alt code can be typed by holding Alt and entering the digits on the numeric keypad. For anything else, press Win+. to open the emoji and symbol panel, or use Insert then Symbol in Microsoft Word, where you can also type the hex code point and press Alt+X.

On macOS, add the Unicode Hex Input source in Keyboard settings, then hold Option and type the four hex digits of the code point. On ChromeOS and on Linux with GTK or IBus, press Ctrl+Shift+U, type the hex code point and press Enter or space. On the web, the numeric HTML entity in the table above always works, whatever the reader's keyboard.

Frequently asked questions

How do I copy a geometric symbol?

Click any glyph in the grid on this page and it is copied to your clipboard instantly. Paste it with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. Each symbol also has its own page with the code point, HTML entity and alt code.

What are the most used geometric symbols?

The ones people look up most in this set are Black Up-Pointing Triangle ▲ (U+25B2). All of them are listed with their codes in the reference table on this page.

Do geometric symbols have Windows alt codes?

Not usually. Alt codes only cover a small legacy set of characters, and these geometric symbols sit outside it. Copy the glyph from this page instead, or use its numeric HTML entity, which works in every browser.

Can I use geometric symbols in HTML and CSS?

Yes. Every symbol here has a numeric HTML entity that works in any browser, and none of them needs a named entity. In CSS use the escape shown on each symbol page inside a content property, and keep the file saved as UTF-8.

Are these geometric symbols real text or images?

They are real Unicode text characters, not images. That means they paste cleanly into documents, captions, usernames and code, and they scale with your font instead of blurring.

Why does a geometric symbol show as an empty box?

An empty box or question mark means the font in use has no glyph for that code point, or the text was decoded with the wrong character set. The character itself is still correct, so switching to a font with wider coverage, or serving the page as UTF-8, brings it back.
